Our Vespa Tour in Hoi An Vietnam

Never thought we would be riding this mode of transport  Way to go Granny and Grandpa!!

Feb 16 / 20 -  This was the day that we had our Streets and Eats tour of Hoi An. We were met at our hotel by our guide Nga (Ninja), and the 2 drivers Huy and Tam. They showed up on 3 antique and restored Vespa scooters at 5pm and worked for the company www.vespaadventures.com.  You can get more information at info@vespaadventures.com
Our guides - Huy, Nga, Tam

We quickly introduced ourselves and put our helmets on and off we went. Bob behind Huy and Naomi behind Tam.

Off we go..it was nice out so no need for raincoats.

We saw lots of leaves used as covers like our saran wrap to keep off the insects

First stop the White Rose restaurant to make dumplings.  Our dumplings did not turn out like the picture above...sure was fun trying.

Quail Eggs
NGA laughing at Bob and I getting onto the little chairs at all the street food places.

Lanterns are classic Hoi An and make the city come to life at night along with the night market.

Nga getting our floating candles ready during our boat ride.

What are we wishing for??  Hope the wishes come true.

Turns out Bob and I wished for the same thing...can't say what or our wish will not come true, lol.

A water coconut growing in the river.

So much to take in as we cruised the river.  There are many rivers and islands in Hoi An and therefore many bridges too.

Rice crackers and various toppings - clams with vegetables, squid and sweet corn.

Another couple were following us we discovered here.  They had seen Bob drop his phone when we got off our boat ride and returned it to him so we had a good laugh when they showed up at this stop..  Bob has not been too great at keeping track of his belongings but very fortunate that people have taken care of him.

We cooked the thinly sliced beef on the right.  The liquid in the pot was vinegar which was interesting to both of us and the rolls we made were very good - not shape wise but tasty.  We have to practice alot before we will be able to make a perfect roll.

NGA showing us how it's done.

What a great night we had with Vespa Adventures - Thank you.
